Rules & Standards

Pro wrestling is a sport of the absurd. If a wrestler is good enough to compete in the ring, then they’re good enough – period. St. Louis Anarchy prides itself on running events where matters are settled in the ring, regardless of weight or size, gender, or any other descriptor. Thus, referees are a critical need.

Referee’s Discretion

Officials are encouraged to be more lax when administering count outs, calling for rope breaks, or disqualifying a competitor. Egregious fouls or run-ins can still result in a disqualification, per the official. Despite the relaxed rules, certain match stipulations have prescribed rule sets that will be adhered to, such as matches contested under Pure Rules, Last Man Standing, or Anarchy Rules, for example.

Time Limits

Unless otherwise stated or stipulated, all championship bouts will have a 60-minute time limit, tag team contests a 30-minute time limit, and all non-title matches a 20-minute time limit. The referee does not keep time. That responsibility falls to both the timekeeper and the bell ringer.

Fines & Suspensions

The promotion reserves the right to fine or suspend a wrestler as a disciplinary measure for severe and/or repeated infractions. The amount of a fine or length of a suspension is decided by Anarchy management.

Reversals & Restarts

An official is allowed to restart a match or wave off the bell if they see the match ended in error (i.e. foot on the ropes). Once a referee leaves the ringside area after calling for the bell, that match result is official.
